What’s your favorite fruit? My answer to that question is Apple! Ripe, red and crunchy apples are a delight to chomp into. And what makes this fruit more special are its myriad health benefits. We all know the ancient Welsh adage, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”, right? 😉
Apples are extremely rich in important antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber. They contain almost no fat, sodium or cholesterol. Apples boost immune system, aid in weight loss, decrease the risk of diabetes, strengthen memory, lower cholesterol, may fight cancer, and let’s admit it – are super-yummy! Clearly, this nutritional powerhouse can easily win the title of the world’s healthiest foods. Combine this fruit with a little bit of Ginger, and voila! – you get a delicious, antioxidant-rich, detoxifying, tummy-friendly, energizing drink! 😀
Apple-Ginger Smoothie
Ingredients:
(This recipe makes 2 tall glasses of delicious thick smoothie)
Apples – 1 large or 2 medium, chopped into cubes
Ginger – 1 small piece or 2 tbsp juice
Any Flavored Yogurt – 1 cup
Orange Juice – 1 Cup
Tender coconut water – 1/2 cup (optional)
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Directions:
- Blend all ingredients into a rich, yummylious smoothie. Enjoy! 🙂
